St. Patrick's Day Game - Staff Welcome!

    This weekend is St. Patrick's,
    A party day for sure.
Don't drink a lot too quick,
I've got a game for you.

    A simple challenge, really.
    A website 'maze' we'll say.
Just follow the clues (and also the rules!)
or else I'll make you pay.

    Don't cheat, don't peek.
    Or else: defeat!
    Team? Yes. Alone? Best.
    Or with members, rest.

    And now it starts!
    Please don't get too tart!
A clue or two for you:

    Venture on over
    to the website of he.
    In honor of 'Patty,
    Our newest staff in green.

    Now get started!
    ~TehYoyo

    Additional Notes:
In case you couldn't decipher my high-level poetry and literary skills, it's really a clue hunt. I've devised a series of webpages that will take you around the web (but mostly in my Dropbox ). Decipher the riddles to find your next clue.

    ALL FORUM STAFF ARE WELCOME!

You CAN discuss the clues here, although, like I say, "Team? Yes. Alone? Best." Your choice (I, personally, encourage discussion but not cheating.).

Now may the luck of the Irish be with you!

    Ouch. Don't go too far.

Make sure that it's in all lowercase, no spaces, etc. Although the password should be very logical, if you follow the clues.

Love 'em - and I'd got as far as realising I was looking for one. However, I had folk drilling the rendering off my neighbours' house at the time, plus more workmen re-roofing the houses across the road and major construction work at the pier, so hearing myself think was getting problematic. I'll maybe try again later.

Personally, I like to mull over clues when I get them...one sitting just takes too much out of me

I suggest you read it - again - a little more carefully; in the "sing-song" meter of a rhyme.

I got it. That was pretty fun. I had to sit and thing about it for a while.

The last part was really clever. =p

Stuck to the password part. Still, an improvement from no progress at all.

Is there anywhere I can copy-paste the password from?

The only other anagram word that makes sense for what I see there is not working for me, though is pretty generic. The anagram, does it have to make sense?

    To quote:

    Your word is generic,

    'though not totally so.

    The letters, the letters.

    Switch them - you'll know.
Remember you have to think outside the box - in this way, the resulting clue won't be what you think. Also, the way you get to the password won't be the way you think, either.

Did anyone find the Easter Egg embedded in the website?

Think, "Let me try to cheat, somehow."

I had rice with liver at lunch today, but I think I needed more brain.

Anyway, that's my logic so far:

    Look up and look down,
    Look left and look right.
    [...]
    Tell what you see.
    The code it will be.
    I see green.

    Your word is generic,
    'though not totally so.
    The letters, the letters.
    Switch them - you'll know.
    generic(anagram(green)) = genre

Tried "style" also. "Brute force attack!!!" LOL

I'm gonna have to tag some people into this: @samanime ; @guido2004 ; @ParkinT ; I think it's painful for anyone who has finished to watch you right now You're so close!!!!

It's more simple than you think. Don't get too caught up with thinking too hard. You need to make one more connection and then you're done.

To anyone who has finished - try not to give it away. There's nothing worse than giving a super-easy clue.

You're last post made me laugh so hard because you literally have the password in your post!

    ~TehYoyo

Edit: The password is obvious once you get it (as it always is :P). If you think it's weird that the 'genre' is the password you got from my hint, then it's probably not it.

It seems a new type of stand-up comedy is born: online stand-up comedy.

To me "genre" it's not weird, it's logic: the anagram of "green" describing something generic. If it's something else I need to get, than it's out of my league, with the clues that were given. The answer may be a bit farfetched? Or related to something ethnic that I don't really know?

Wait! Don't give up now! You're so close! Think outside the box. Maybe the word 'generic' isn't being used as an adjective...(read: yeah. it's not being used as an adjective - oops.) Again, think outside the box about what generic could be.

Now, I know that you'll no go and Google 'generic used as noun' or something of the sort. Don't. Just think about the clues and think outside the box.

    Determination. You'll get there.
