I like video tutorials, mainly because people are generally hopeless at expressing themselves clearly in writing, while in a video they can just show you what to do—so at least you get some idea of what they are driving at.

I certainly do. I'd also check Vimeo for design related tutorials. They have some true gems there that you don't find on the tubes.

Yes I also watch Youtube tutorials to find help regarding any topic. Watching video is easier than reading textual tutorial if you are about to find information on any topic. For example, if I need to collect information on any SEO activity, I prefer to watch Mattcutts or Rand Fishkin's videos to find it in an easy way.

Youtube.com might as well take the place of some colleges, there is a ton of information on there. I usually watch the tutorials on programs because it really is impossible for people to EXPLAIN things in writing. Mush easier to see it in my opoinion. Who knows, but I love em.

Well I personally trust more youtube tutorial than written tutorial. Spoken word will give you more info and you could easily say wether it's fake or not.

For me it really depends on the tutorial - some things can be answered within seconds, and if I see the video is a 5-minute snooze-fest I'll just look the answer up.

I'm a little shocked at all the responses in favor of this crap... Am I really THAT out of touch with the "AAAH! WALL OF TEXT!" generation? How do you even glean useful information from a video? I can't do it without getting pissed off by... What was it just called? A five minute snooze fest?
