    Netscape 4.7x div borders help needed

    Hi All,

    I'm struggling to get Netscape 4.7x browsers to pick up some DIV borders.

    Here's an extract from the style sheet:

    .leftbox
    {BACKGROUND-COLOR: #f5f5f5; BORDER-BOTTOM: #999999 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #999999 1px solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #999999 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #999999 1px solid; FONT-SIZE: 12px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 20px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 6px; PADDING-LEFT: 6px; PADDING-RIGHT: 6px; PADDING-TOP: 6px; WIDTH: 150px}

    Here is how I'm declaring it on the page:

    <DIV class=leftbookbox>
    </DIV>

    Any help / advice on what needs to be added / altered to make them appear correctly would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Matt

    I'm pretty sure that borders are outside the realm of NS4's CSS support.

    I have Netscape 4.03 for testing and I have it working, so this should work for you.

    1) Use the following shorthand in place of the 4 different settings for each border side: "border: 1px solid #999999;" (without quotes). The ones you are using are unsupported by Netscape 4.XX.

    2) In your div the class is "leftbookbox" and in your stylesheet it is "leftbox". Change them so they match. (Perhaps that was a typo when posting?)

    Let us know if it worked.

    By the way, you could compact your padding statements into just "padding: 6px;" (without quotes) even though either way is supported by Netscape 4.XX. It will just clean it up a little.

    In case anyone is wondering, I used http://www.w3schools.com/ to research browser compatibility. (Although, I did find some reference to the border thing at a Netscape site before that.)
