    Arrow

    Here's mine:

    1. WS_FTP/CuteFTP - essential FTP program(s). Best I've seen...

    2. Notepad- easiest way to edit and manage HTML files.

    3. CSE HTML Validator - wluke referred me to this and I really like it. Great for checking HTML for errors.

    4. AOL Press - others might use DreamWeaver, FrontPage, etc., but I like this app for indenting and straightening my HTML out after I've worked on it in Notepad.

    5. Textpad - use for spell checking, etc. Great all-in-one software.

    For me...

    1. Homesite 4.5 - to code in PHP and optimize HTML

    2. Dreamweaver 3 - to design pages/sites

    3. puTTY - an SSH client

    4. Apache - well, of course, a Web server

    5. ColorCop - to get the hex and rgb info from any pixel on the screen

And a few more general apps that come in handy: Bryce, Photoshop, HTMLTidy, Bobby, HTMLShrinker, and of course Internet Explorer & NS.

    Cool

I didn't include IE, Netscape, etc. Those are obvious.

Some have mentioned HomeSite. I have that downloaded, but never really played with it. I guess Textpad is good enough for me.

Seems like the usage of WS_FTP LE and CuteFTP are pretty split. I use both, but WS_FTP LE is better because it's ad-free. CuteFTP, on the other hand, can resume downloads.

Keem 'em coming. It's fun to hear what tools you all use.

    2) Bradbury TopStyle
    3) Paint Shop Pro
    4) WS-FTP
    5) Visual Interdev

I know its more than 5 but that is currently my exact toolbox. Tools are used in that order of importance.

p.s. I don't consider SitePoint a tool because none of my questions ever get answered...

You can try it out by going to:
    http://www.bradsoft.com/topstyle/index.asp

They have a free light version, which is also included in Homesite 4.5 and higher. And a full featured commercial version.
