locating htacess

Hi,
I have many websites under / of my server and i think something is wrong with one of .htaccess file on server. its a linux server. i wanted to knw that does all my websites under / has different htaccess file or just juse one? and where can i locate it

Each (addon) domain is likely established in subdirectories of the main domain so the main's .htaccess will be circumvented by a request to the addon domain.
