    Hey all,
I'm Jason, webmaster of HyperBaseball.com and soon to be some other sites. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.
After surfing these boards for the past few days, and reading an entire thread based on this, could someone tell me what WYSIWYG in WYSIWG editor stands for? I've figured out that it's something like DreamWeaver and Frontpage where HTML and all is coded for you, but the acronym isn't fitting together. Any help? Thanks.

    Welcome to SP Jason

    WYSIWYG means...

    What
    You
    See
    Is
    What
    You
    Get

I also like the site NetLingo which has many other acronyms that are used on the web...more just keep popping up every day!

WYSIWG = What You See Is What You Get.

In reality it should be WYSIAWYG (What You See Is Almost What You Get).

You're so true Wayne... I've to manually correct some things while coding in DreamWeaver, luckily DW makes better code than me if I'd coded by hand and a lot faster

WYSIWYG means, as said above, "What You See Is What You Get."

What that means is, in the instance of a HTML editor, what the screen looks like (what you see) when you ask the editor to provide the HTML code for you is what the published page will look like (what you'll get). Just think of this as similar to a word processor (also usually a WYSIWYG environment): what you see on the screen is what the page will look like when you print it on your printer.

    Hope this helps.
