What do you use for a Help Desk?

I'm looking for recommendations on Help Desk software.

One that could intergrate into vBulletin would be preferred.

    Thanks

PerlDesk is quite a nice simple system, uses Perl scripts and has features like members, admin control, changable languages, etc.

    The site is here: http://www.perldesk.com/

    Examples are: http://www.futurehosts.co.uk/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi and http://www.perldesk.com/demo.shtml

This uses perl scripts though so wouldn't be much good if you wanted to intergrate into vBulletin.

How do you want to intergrate it? Same database, displayed on the forums page, using forums members?

Would it not be easier to simply create a forum on your vBulletin forum as the Helpdesk, and have users able to post and then staff could post replies and close old topics when needed. If you wanted to keep it seperate you could simply not display that forum in your forums index.

    Good luck

We are using Perl Desk but I'm finding it limiting.
I am thining of making my own custom user database intergrated into a support area that also has special member info, and more.

I would be very interested in helping develop a system that intergrates with vBulletin. I am currently working on a CMS system that works with the vBulletin database and members permissions, etc

We are using perldesk as well and are quite satisfied with it - a good helpdesk ticket system that makes it easy to build up a knowledgebase/FAQ as well.

Request Tracker is pretty nice, though can be a PITA to install/setup.

    www.deskpro.com

Not sure if it integrates with vBulletin but it shouldn't be hard. You can ask the author, Chris Padfield. He uses vBulletin on several of his sites.

    Deskpro!!

For $800 it better intergrate well into vBulletin! That is a complete rip off, although I wouldn't mind having a copy if you bought me one

Thanks for sharing it with us. I do feel that a solid product should have a higher price but that's a little out of my budget

Looks like a great and feature rich script. What do you like the most about it?

Hmm, just realized I never responded to the questions here!

I'm looking for a way for my vBulletin user to enter tickets without having to create accounts in a helpdesk system.

Do any of these systems allow for people to submit tickets without having a username and password, just base the ticket on emails.

Well, since our HelpDesk stuff is for cross-departmental, multi-user, across inter and intranet stuff... We are building our own. Haven't really found anything that integrates into Active Directory yet.

But, if someone found software that did I'd be willing to pay a finder's fee if it met our goals

If you are looking for something for a large enterprise take a look at HEAT:

    http://www.creekpointe.com/

    And Control F1:

    http://www.control-f1.com/

We use both of these at my full time job and have them intergrated with our eDirectory.
