Here's a short article about IBM's Chieko Asakawa, who currently researches and evangelises about web access for the blind.

"Information access has become so critical for our daily lives," she says in her soft but forceful voice. "It's not a privilege; it's a human right."

Of course there will always be those who believe having access to knowledge, like having access to food, is indeed a privilege. Bah.
