Apache2 on local machine

I'm running Apache2 on my local machine for testing, etc. When I start the service I get two apache.exe processes in my Task Manager. I was wondering if this is normal or if I have something configured wrong.

I'm running PHP 4.2.3 as a SAPI module if that makes any difference.

Well, I got apache with php on win98
When I start my cpu it runs up some Apache service monitor that i think dosn't do anything.
Then when I click on running apache in console or something I get up a window called apache and then it shuts down and some PHP window appears and all works.
