Under development website for an Advertising Agency

    hello all

My name is Daniel and today i`m here to ask for some reviews on the website we are developing for our company Xander Advertising.

the development site is located here

except the text content (where we are still looking for a copywriter) are are intrested in all kind of reviews you can trow at us, don`t be nice just point the finger where it hurts.

Accessibility, Usability, web standards, design, etc.. Also we would like if you can sugest any more good relevant questions we might add and answer in our FAQ section.

thanks a lot and i`m looking forward to hear from you.
    cheers
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

First of all, I like it. I like the whitespace, the heading font—it gives kind of an old-school feeling with a modern touch.

The paragraph text under "Client reviews" and "News & events" is tiny though. I like it in the footer, just feels a bit too small in the paragraphs. And I'd like to see some more balance in the line-height (leading). Line-height under "Latest work" is a bit tight, same in the slides, but under "News & events" it's pretty loose instead. I'd like to see something in-between—more balance and consistency.

But again, I like it. The color palette is nice in my opinion, feels nice and smooth to read. The font-size again is a little small though. Check out Huge Inc. for example, they've got a small font-size in the footer and other areas but the important content is slightly larger, which makes it easy to read.

    Good luck!

    Dear Xander Studios,

Firstly it took a while to load for me so that is something you should look into. Is it an issue with the server or the design? Cut back the load time (or then again it could be my internet speed.) I think you need a better logo far too basic, advertising agencies usually have really flashy, well designed logos and yours is just basic text. The lined border looks awful in my opinion get rid of it! Negatives aside the website is well layed out, easy to navigate, doesn't strain the eyes, nice use of clipart and photography to send out a message.

At the moment I would give the website 5/10. It is a decent solid website but the advertising world is highly competitive you need a design that is high impact, captures attention and displays a powerful message. I dont want to be harsh, just trying to help you improve the website.

    Cheers,

    Invicta

Visually, I like it a lot. It gets a 9 for nice aesthetics from me.

The content structure is clear and concise. The fonts for body copy could be a bit bigger. I have to squeeze my eyes in order to be able to read it.

The caption/descriptive text next to your images in the header slider have very low contrast and are too small. Here too, you could optimize it (larger text, darker font colour)

This is a relatively simple design, so you could use ems or even percentages and make it a flexible layout. That'd make your site a lot more user-friendly.

And you could trim the markup and CSS.

And the logo... The logo isn't speaking to me.

Other than that, I love your sense of style, love the colors. It's elegant and warm and generally friendly.

I really like the layout and color scheme, although the text needs some more contrast and possibly a bump up in size as well.

I really like that you get case studies in the portfolio, and that it's easy to navigate and includes related items. I think it really invites browsing.

I would consider hiding the areas where you don't have content not (e.g. Video, Audio)

The Language dropdown only displays the current language. I think it would be more useful to display "Switch to Romanian" in Romanian (and Switch to English on the Romanian version) instead.

I really like the highlighting on the FAQ answers. Nicely done there!

And, as others have said, the logo is a bit too plain. I see what you're doing with the aesthetic of the site, but I feel it blends into the background currently.

Hey ...i differ from the posts above....the colors looks dim for me for a advertising agency...may be you can add one more brighter color to it

The structure of it great and on a business perspective, you can integrate social networking media's which will helps to generate more leads...

The elephant in the room: the website should be in Romanian, not English.

The CaviarDreamsRegular font is very thin for Google Chrome's lack of smoothing. Consider using the bold version; it's only a bit thicker and you'll have the best of both worlds.
