    Hello all,
A couple of days ago, I found a site called http://newslettersforfree.com/
Anyway, as they told me, I can list my eZine (http://echodev.com/journal/), but I'll have to pay for the subscribers they'll get me (10c/sub).

Anyway, has anyone ever used them? If so, what were the results? Does it worth it to spend?

    Boris

It will only be worth it if you can make more off of your newletter advertising than the number of subscribers they send you X 10c. So if you make $800.00 off of advertising per month and they send you 8000 new subscribers per month, you will break even. Of course with that many subscribers hopefully your revenues would increase.

Except that the next month you will have 8000 more visitors so can charge more for advertising.

The idea is that you figure out how much you make off each subscriber a day (ie. decent advertising rate: $10 CPM = $.01 day/subscriber) therefore each subscriber is worth $.30 a month making this program VERY profitable ($.20 per subscriber pure profit in the FIRST month and $.30 each additional month.)

Personally, I find that I usually get 3 or 4 new subscribers a day from these services (hardly worth it). Also, they are more likely to leave since they didn't specifically find you.

The owner's address is @aol.com (and never responded to a inquiry); also the domain name jumps around as you browse the site, so I'd be warry of them. The $300 min scares me... I don't see the reason for it since you are required to pay for whatever names they send straight up.

Another company that does this is, (and they offer a 100 subscriber trial) http://imaginationsunlimited.com .

We used them. Not recommended. We got a ton of dud email addresses, numbered email addresses (dude1@domain.com, dude2@domain.com, etc.), and the rest where either hotmail, yahoo, aol or webtv ones.

    Matt,

    Which one did you use?

The one originally asked about or the one referenced directly above your post?

The addresses I got were MOSTLY fine, but I never was willing to go past the free mark.

Yup, we used NewslettersForFree.com and ListWorld.net for a while.
