    Problems with Apache server

I am trying to get the Apache server to work and I am getting the error that it can't load the php4apache.dll
into the server. I can't seem to find the problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    sketchit

What OS are you using? What version of Apache? Any specific error messages?

No you don't want apache, get a nice Win2k Machine and use IIS. No problems, and no cryptic error messages.

IIS is crap. "63% of the websites on the Internet are using Apache, making it more widely used than all other web servers combined."

In the c:/php/php-4.2.3-win32 or c:/php/php-4.2.3-win32/dlls there 'll be a file called php4ts.dll

Just move this to your windows system directory and apache should be working fine ...

The php4apache.dll is the file that the apache can not find.
    not the php4ts.dll.

Maybe, I'll uninstall it and try another system.

Actually ... php4apache.dll needs php4ts.dll to run. So you need to move php4ts.dll to your windows system directory.

Correct me if I am wrong ...

Are you missing php4apache.dll and or php4ts.dll altogether ?

php4apache.dll is found in the SAPI directory (assumming you have downloaded the php binary distribution). As Amit said, you also have to copy php4ts.dll (and php.ini) to the winnt/system32 directory.

Try renaming the php directory "c:/php/php-4.2.3-win32/" to "C:/php/"

Can you post the lines you are using in the httpd.conf for loading the file ...

Here is what I use ...

    LoadModule php4_module "C:/PHP/sapi/php4apache.dll"
    AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3 .php .phtml
