    Best Image Gallery

    Hi

    I am looking for a good minimal image gallery for wordpress.

    I would like to use it for showcasing websites I have worked on before.
    I wil take screenshots of multiple pages and it would be good if they rotate automatically.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    While there are numerous image gallery plugins, few of them have the built in capability to rotate images.

    The Nivo slider from dev7studios is one I use.

    I use NextGen Gallery (together with NextGen Custom Fields) on my portfolio and am quite happy with it. There is a little bit more of a learning curve and configuration required, but once you've got the hang of it, you'll find it's quite flexible and powerful.

    There are a few little tips & tricks I can give you if you decide to use it
    var details = {
    . . web: "afterlight.com.au",
    . . photos: "jvdl.id.au",
    . . psa: "usethelatestversion.com"
    }

    Thanks for the links.

    I was wondering what do you think is the best gallery type for showcasing screenshots for websites I have done.

    On this site, there is an example of showing screenshots:
    http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/templates/showcase

    The problem with this is it will crop the page, all screenshots will have to be the exact same size.

    I don't mind spending money on a gallery, but just want to make sure its the right one.

    This is one of the things I like about NextGen, you can just specify a maximum width that images get resized to (and leave the height blank) and it will resize your images to that width when you upload them and retains the aspect ratio so they don't get chopped off.

    Ultimately most of the display stuff you should be able to control anyway, so you can throw whatever image slider / lightbox / whatever you want on there. So the important part is having a good management system for the images and an API to access them.

    You have a sample on your site where you use them?

    Yup! Take a look at http://afterlight.com.au/portfolio

    It's still a work in progress, I only built the site about a month ago, but it has a couple of projects in there already
