layout and quicktime issues on ie for mac

I just launched a site and it works and looks fine on ie for windows, and netscape and mozilla for mac, but it has issues with ie for mac. Specifically, I have two the problems regarding ie 5.1 on mac os 9.2.2...

    1) the main content table gets stretched to the right on ie for mac- creating unused white space that is not supposed to be there. http://www.industriousbird.com/words.html

    2. I can't get these quicktime movies to work on ie for mac.
http://www.industriousbird.com/woastudio_piper.html (This page is actually a pop up window that is accessed from the first sample image on this page.. http://www.industriousbird.com/soundtracks.html)

Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped!

    Dear Industrious Bird,

I can't see the problem with the table, as I can't open my classic browser with my OSX browser open. I'll have a check after I send this message.

The problem with the Quicktime movies not playing on the mac is that in the Object tag (used by Mozilla browsers, I think) you have the correct path to the movie (http://www.woastudio.com/piper3.mov) whereas in the embed tag (used by other browsers) you only have piper3.mov in the src tag, which means any IE browser on the mac won't be able to find the movie.

    Hope that helps a bit!

    William

Thanks a lot for your help! Your suggestion makes a lot of sense. The only thing is, I don't have a mac so I can't see if it fixed the problem. Can you (or anyone else with explorer for mac) see if these pages work now?

    THANKS!

If you can find an old version of Netscape 4.5, this will help you with most of your Mac Problems. If it looks good there, it will most likely loog good on 99% of the Macs. When we finish a site, we verify it with this version, plus we have print designers on a MAC.

    Hope this helps.
