    Unhappy Horizonal Positioning (CCS Layout)

    Hi,

    I need to position two div's horizontally so that left div has fixed width and right div has dynamic width up to the end of the page. There should be no gap between the div's.

    Any help is appreciated,

    Dmitry

    It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

    Below the header there are two div's. One starting with "A list apart" and another with wich is represented with the red square. I need this red square to have dynamic width/height. The controls near the red square are actually withing it. Like button1, button2 and etc. Left div is basicly a menu, right is the content area.

    Thanks,

    Dmitry

    Try this:
    Code:
    body         {margin: 0;}
    div#sidebar  {position: absolute; width: 200px;}
    div#main     {position: absolute; left: 200px; right: 0;}
    This works ok with mozilla. With IE you might have to set the width of a block element inside the main div at 100% to get the exact effect that you are looking for.
