Hey!
Nice work, pass on my thanks to the dev team.
One thing though, this plugin incorrectly parses code too buggering it up.
Hoy in a bug report for me.

I got it Nuria
Yes...I do like this feature a lot. This is very nice! This might be me getting a little over-excited but I think this could be a great feature to help increase activity levels and the sense of the community, as you said @HAWK . I know what you mean with why you like it Sarah, because I've often gone around searching the forums for any mention of AndrewCooper...Now I don't need to, I get notified of it!
Just brilliant!

Thanks @AnthonySterling - that certainly is a PITA. As a temporary work around, if you apply colour to the @ then it'll work.

I was having trouble earlier when trying to tag someone (you) in an OffTopic tag.
e.g.
Off Topic:
This is offtopic and trying to tag Sarah with her username: HAWK
I you *can* go in to fix it *after* the post is published by editing the inside of the Mention tag.
Off Topic:
This is offtopic and I'm tagging Sarah with her username (but coming back to fix it): @HAWK
var details = {
. . web: "afterlight.com.au",
. . photos: "jvdl.id.au",
. . psa: "usethelatestversion.com"
}
Not sure how it works for those of us with spaces in their monikers (Molona, your blackmax tag went to some other fellow, not me!). @Black Max doesn't display properly...
Edit: Yes, it does display properly. Never mind.![]()

Sorry, Michael... you know that it was meant to you![]()

I think this is the first forum which i have visited having this facility.... CooL one...
I'm trying to find a way to delete all the Quote notifications under the Quote tab in my profile but am not having any luck.
Is there a way? or is the list of quote notifications just going to keep on growing forever? It's even recording when I quote someone else and not just when someone quotes me![]()

Thanks for your reply.
But with
are you sure?
Attached is a screen dump of what I see when I click on the Notifications drop down at the top of the window or on the Quotes tab in my profile. You can see I am getting notifications for when others quote me and for when I quote others.
It's not a big deal really. I was just curious about how to delete the notifications because I am assuming they are occupying space in a database somewhere.

I didn't say that it didn't record both ways... only that it notifies when you are quoted (that's the notification link that you have at the very top of the window). At least, that's how it works for me.
I'm not certain of how the plugin works and if it deletes the information but I haven't found anything to deleted so if there's any kind of deletion it mus be automatic or done by the administrator, I assume.

You said
I took that to mean that I am notified only when someone quotes me and that I am not notified when I quote someone else. But I clearly am.You're only notified when someone quotes you.
Like I said, it's not a big deal![]()

Maybe I didn't explain myself. Everything gets listed under your quote tab... but I could only see a "notification" when someone quoted me. Notification for me is the link that shows in the main forum page that says "Notification: 2" or whatever. When you display it, it tells you how many times you've been quoted, the number of unread pms and stuff like that.

ok, no problemWe were using different definitions of notification. I was treating a notification as being each record in the screen dump I posted.
I think this is cool
This forum really did a great job.

Ok, there were heaps of issues with mention tags being wrapped around inappropriate chars (ie in code and email addresses) SO to make them work now, you need to end the username with a ;
as in @HAWK ;

Actually, just a quick test without the ; @HAWK
It's good but it can see only my network friends or another member?

Any other member on this forum.
ok, after my initial skepticism (because I'm not into twitter, facebook or any other social networking craze) this tagging, mentioning quoting etc thingy is starting to grow on me, albeit at glacier pace.
There's still a couple of things I don't fully understand the benefit of. I see I have now been tagged once and my username appears with other tagged users in the 'tagged users' list at the top of the thread I was tagged in. When I click any of the usernames in the tagged users list, I am taken to the user's profile which is fine, but I can be taken to a user's profile by clicking on their username in any thread the user posts in.
So what functionality or benefit am I missing? Is there some other benefit for a taggee or the tagger by using the tagged users list apart from being taken to the taggee's profile page when clicking a username in the tagged users list?
If this continues to grow on me, geez, I might even join twitter![]()

If someone tags you, it's listed in your notifications (top right on each forum page) to alert you to the fact that someone has addressed / mentioned you. (Otherwise you might not know... So it's a great tool for people who are paranoid.)
