install apache, mysql and php GUIDE NEEDED!!!

    Hi,

I'm trying to implement PHP apache and mysql on a workstation in a win NT network. I want to install PHP as a module for apache, also I won't be needing asp, but there is a possibility that it may be needed later, can ASP be also be intalled as a module?

Please can someone guide me through this step by step!

    Thanks
Laws are like sausages. You have much more respect for them if you haven't actually seen how they're made.

We are all here for you .

By the way the first step is to install apache and make it runs.
    (At office I have apache/mysql/php under winnt4.0sp6a ).
So go here, download and install it:
    http://nagoya.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/

    Personally I would install 1.3.27,
    but that's me.
Most depend what you want to do with Apache.

This is the first step...others when Apache will run successfully.

About ASP, even if I didn't know anything about it I would say that existed ChiliSoft.
I always see people saying that ChiliSoft/Asp is different than IIS/ASP.
People here could be give more details, or do a search there are some threads about that argument here.

Kevin Yanks series on building a Database driven website using PHP and MySQL explains how to install PHP and MySQL into Windows. The first few articles in the series are still available on sitepoint, address: http://www.webmasterbase.com/article.php/525 , it also mentions getting a web server other than IIS as well as getting and installing php and mysql under windows

    Good luck
