    How to design object flowcharts

    Hi,
I'm sorry for the incorrect title but I had no idea how to title it.
I'm sorry If I redirect you here
    http://www.martinfowler.com/isa/frontController.html
but I wanted to know how those "flowcharts" are done.
I wanted to know if that's a standard way to do it and so on which are the tools you used to do it.

    Tutorials/books/tools are welcomed.
    Thank you for any inputs.

You can use UML for this kind of thing. The most popular tool for modelling UML is Rational Rose.

This doesn't look quite like a UML diagram - but on the other hand I'm not over familiar with UML so someone feel free to correct me if it is
    that's me!

"UML Distilled" by Martin Fowler (www.martinfowler.com !)

Tools; if you think $4000 for Rational Rose is too expensive, and you don't know enough UML to make use of all the functionality in RR, try http://www.gnome.org/gnome-office/dia.shtml for $0

    Thank you both!
Jofa, "UML Distilled" was not too far from the link I posted as example, thanks a lot for pointing to that.
I have a good impression of Martin Fowler and I think I will buy that book.

    About the tools,
I notice that MicrosoftVisio can do UML too,
I think it is contained in the Office Packet.

    I founded some documentation here:
    http://www.objectmentor.com/courses/usingUmlForOod
That site contains many interesting things...

Yes Microsoft Visio has support for UML diagrams. It's quite good, except that it doesn't support Java types and primitives (there are VB and C++ ones though, but that's not good enough for me since my software engineering module is in Java!)

you can also take a look at a free solution in ArgoUML which is a Open Source UML modeling tool written in Java. No installation required... Just make sure you've JRE and just run the .jar file. It's quite ok, but of course it lacks the polish of Rational Rose and Visio.
