    Hi everyone!

    I have just finished my new site. I wanted to know how other webmasters thought about how it looks and how well it navigates. I would really appreciate it. The url to the homepage is found here!
    Thanks!

    ~~~This Site Has Been Approved ~~~
    I think you need to break your text up somehow. It just seems to all blend together and makes it hard for the eyes to figure out where to stop and start etc..
    I have one simple suggestion... change your colors. The blue-black thing really isn't working. I would suggest using a "traditional" white for your bg color.
    One thing is your *News* on your homepage - Try and make it more positive.
    Letting them know that you are fixing dead links and the earlier post I saw the other day about you not having enough time and will get back later - doesn't give a very good impression of your site.
    *News* clips that you include on your homepage should be interesting things, such as new resources and links, that have been added that *everyone must see* and that will make your visitors want to stay and look around...which is want you want
    Thanks everyone for their comments! But, does anyone out there like how the site looks at all? I am just curious on how the new design looks. It took me many, many hours comming up with it, can I atleast know someone likes it? I still like all the constructive critism though, I will definately consider all the earlier posts.
    Looking at your site with a Mac, your thick blue vertical bars do not connect to the horizontal blue bars above and below them. There is about a 10 pixel space.
    It looks a lot more like a personal homepage than a professional page. I hope you know what I mean by this.
    Well, , what does a proffessional web site really look like. How do you define it. Some people have told me they like the site a lot, others tell me that it is to hard to read. I just don't know how to make it look "proffessional" so that everyone likes it.
    It might take months or numerous versions, aka "redesigns", to make you site look "professional". For example one of the sites that i maintain http://www.blueridgewireless.com is on it's 5th revision in it's 1st year of operation!! no to most they say "Hey that's a professional loking site what company made it?" and when i tell them i did it i can walk around for a few days acting like a webmaster diety! but there are others, besides myself (yes even me), who still thinks the site looks a little less than professional. so give it time and just keep teaking it. sooner or later you'll be happy and so will the masses. but keep on thing in mind. "You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time."
    Well, I can tell you that I have redesigned the Web Site Resource about 8 times in the last 6 months. To tell you the truth, I am starting to get really annoid why I can't come up with a half way decent site design, it's just driving me crazy. Well, I gais as time goes on I will become more experienced and beable to create better webpages. Well, I think I am doing an okay job for a sixteen year, even though age doesn't really matter to much. Thank you everyone for your comments, and if you have a suggestion, please reply because I need all the suggestions that I can get!
    Thanks!
    *Redesign* is the key...And that doesn't always mean changing your entire site! Text here, color there...those kind of changes.
    I noticed that you changed your *News* on your homepage to include things that your visitors would like to see and even added a link to your site
    This is exactly the type of *Redesign* that you can do that won't seem so overwhelming!
    What looks good to you one day, may not the next...just go with your instincts, look at other sites, learn all that you can and you will do just fine
    *And* remember that it doesn't happen overnight!
    I think that a possibility for your site might be to simplify it. There is a lot to look at as soon as the site loads and no clear direction to go right away.
    Pretend that no one knows what information you are presenting. Spell it out for them. Why should they be at your site? Why should you be their first choice? What feature of your site are you the most proud of or is more important than the rest? Right now the search capability/newsletter feature seems to be the most important as it is front and center, you might want to move it so that the first thing people see is content.
    I LIKE the color scheme, but you need to organize the site differently so that your content in clearer.
    Remember, simplicity is best, the clearer your purpose of the site the better.
    Hope this helps.
    * I like your design & colors * and I can see that you have been working on it since you posted and your changes have improved your site just since then
    FYI - On my 640x480 screen your banner in the upper right "Way to make $$-click here" is too far to the right, so that it forces me to scroll to read - but that graphic is the only thing that is causing that! If that banner was moved to the left you would only have to click to go down your pages - you need to check them all.
    But you have been recently working to update your site and I can tell
    Interesting site, usefull info, good content. Keep up. Only one negative comment: black backgrounds are often seen on sites related to porn, warez, and other stuff you might not want to be associated with. Btw, I registered my site in your directory.
    Good luck with this new site.
    Chris,
    I'm impressed. Having only been at the task of creation of webpages for less then one year I think you are doing very well. The only critizism is that I find it hard to read the text on the upper right hand part of your home page.
    II'm not too keen on the 'blackground' - It makes your pages hard to read.
    Other than that, it's really good!
    WSRESOURCE,
    You have a great deal of useful information here, which is something to really build upon. Here are my observations.
    1. Your color scheme is not well coordinated. GO for more contrast against the background. Make all the blue yellow, orange or lime so they stand out from the black background. You will also have to consider the color of the text that you will use. Key is go for high contrast colors between your foreground and background colors.
    2. I wasn't able to distinguish a PRIMARY NAVIGATION from a SECONDARY NAVIGATION, you will need to organize how to present your content and categorize them accordingly by using consistent navigation that the user will be familiar and comfortable with.
    3. You have redesigned this site 8 times already? I suggest that you design a template first so that you are saved the time consuming task of revising your entire website and still getting a flak from all of us self-pronounced critics here.
    Hope this helps
    I have redesigned the whole entire site! I changed the black background to white and I did many more things to the site. Come and take a look at it now at http://www.wsresource.com . Make sure you post on the forum hor you think of the new design.
    Thanks!
    Well I didn't see your site before, but I don't see a point to that animated banner at the top of your main page. Not only did I have to get up to my screen to see what it said,but when I clicked on it thinking I would goto another place it only opened a new window of that page.
    So,
    1: Stick it through an image editor to sharpen it.
    2: Add you site name in it.
    3: Put it at the bottom of the page an use it as a "link to this site" banner.
    Oh one more thing. Also at the top right you are telling us what your site offers, but if I look down a hair I see what you have anyway. Maybe you can find some more important things to stick in that prime location.
    A webmasters work is never done is it.
    The rest of the site is fine as long as you clear out the stuff at the top of the pages( as I see its at the top on all the pages).
    The banner that you see on top of every page is directed to my advertising script. I was just placing it in the rotation to see how well that particlular banner would do in other ad campaigns. I put that paragraph at the top of the page so that the site would get better search engine ranking. It has worked so far.
    Thanks!
    Chris, I looked around the site and can see that you have put a lot of time into it. I'm not real keen on all the black but, otherwise it looks good. I have bookmarked your site and will be checking back often.
    I actually have done a lot to the site now! I was able to integrate some ssi scripts into the site so it is a lot faster and easier to change. I am adding a lot of content to the site including articles and tips and tricks. I am going to continue to work my but off on the site and maybe someday it will become as popular as the webmaster resource site. (Ya Right!!!)
