Trying for tableless CSS layout- need help

    Hi All!
I'm trying to go tableless on a redo of one of our sites. I'm really new
to CSS in general and not just layout so I need coaching.
I'm going really slow and careful this time (2nd try at this) and would
appreciate some advice at each step. Kind of walk me through it if you
    don't mind. ;^)

Here is a test page with what I have so far. I started with the content
first because that's what I had trouble with the first try - in previous
versions this was a mess of nested tables.

    Questions:
What is setting the font size for the #content p?
The only font sizes I've declared are for p.greenbg and p.graybg.
I don't understand why the font is the size it is...

If I set a font size for the #content div will it apply to anything in
it? Including Ps? So that I only need to set the size once and all font
sizes in the div is to be the same size?

Is there a way to tighten up the spaces between the thumbnail/titles?
I tried setting the margin to 0 but there is still a space. It's an even
larger space in NN and Mozilla.

Any other tips would really be appreciated here as I don't know what I'm
    doing, but willing to learn.

    Thanks
    Daf

the browser, you have no parent font sizing or font in any of your css, so its just being left upto the browser to determin the font size.

yes, all font sizes/styles will be inherited unless they are overwriten.

i dare say it is the hspace in your image tags. Im not sure if this is whats causing the issue with NS/Moz but it could be. In any case that would be where to look at interms of getting the image and text closer.
