locate missing folder

I m on shared hosting.

there was a folder named "designs" in my www folder.

but today i login to ftp and found this folder is missing.

how can i locate it. Where did it went.

You have to create folder and upload files under public_html folder.
www folder is not the right place.

i think www and public_html are linked.

any folder i create in www, it is automatically created in public_html also

It might be a good idea to contact your host to ask them where the folder went, and if they have a backup that they can restore for you.
