Looks like I'm the first review. What a useful site! (being the parent of 2 teens and 2 barely adults)

Okay, here goes. Your marquee is distracting on the very top of your page. Perhaps you could place it lower into the page or not include it at all. (I hate marquees but that's just a personal preference.)

I don't understand the first green animated arrow on the left. You could probably leave that out. I would remove the list formatting and perhaps put small graphics giving the titles for each one w/ a link.

That way your page will appear more evenly aligned.

In your table with the survey, I recommend putting each form field at the beginning or the ending of each line but uniformly. I would "left align" it too.

One more thing, on our logo, the letters are a little blurry on the word "Adolescents" (or is it me?!?) Maybe you could rework that.

Overall, I think you've got a great site w/ very useful content. Good luck to you!

Great layout.Quick load time. The marquee(my opinion)is too slow. Bump it up a little.
Your obviously concerned with viewers not scrolling down. Maybe move the "link to us"down under the "Letter from Karen" and then move your marquee under the picture.?.

    Just a suggestion.
    Good luck.

    Hi,

I agree with the first reviewer's
critique except that I personally like
using a marque for special promotions,
    giveaways, sweepstakes etc.

Also on the bookstore page, the
    words "Parenting Adolescents Online
    Bookstore" suffers with the same
problem as the word "Adolescents" at
the top, the blurry effect, but even
    more so.

Overall though, the site is good,
providing a very unique and valuable service. Best of Luck with it.

The four responses posted so far are already sooo helpful! Thanks so much. I've saved your suggestions and will tweak away to make a new improved site! Thank you also for the kind words about the site's being useful. Feel free to send in a question! And thanks again...

This is a very useful site. As soon as I sow what it contained I save to my favorite places. It looks great as far as I can see.

    Cool Site,
Im accually a teen myself so i appreciate the service you are providing. The site is really cool. I just have a few suggestions:
    1. Put more content on the first page, and near the top. Right now all i can see when i first see the site is a welcome statement and the picture, oh and the nav buttons. Maybe you could put the question of the week up there at the top. to try and draw visitors in. Maybe include a short quote from the question.
    2. Text on navbar is blurry. I know you;ve seen it in other posts but it is annoying, plus a little 80's (which is good if that's what you're going for). Just use a cool font and make the logot a little bigger, so people will remember the site after they see it.
    3. Buttonized navbar not needed. The avbar seems to be buttonized, or raised via a graphics program. I suggest just using colored text and a cool font (like i said before), and it'll make the navigation a little easier to read.

    Good luck to you.

I tend to agree with everyone else, but would suggest that you try and put more at the top, I personally hate to scroll down so much on the front page.

I think there is too much on the front page. No-one can be bothered to scroll down. Get rid of the table borders, and introduce a more firm colour scheme. Thats about all I got to say, apart from the images (buttons) at the top are a bit clumsy looking . not too bad at all though overall!

    Hi Jean,

I have taken a look at your site and the following suggestions/comments come to mind:

    - Use no more than 2 different types of fonts. More than 2 fonts make the site look confusing and non-professional
    - Downsize the amount of kb that the main image consists of (over 26 kb!!!!)
    - Adjust the "Link to us" image. It has a totally different lay-out compared with the rest of your site

    OK... That's it!

    Goodluck

The top looks fine, but things get too cluttered as you scroll down. But yes it does load fast. And that's good for people looking for fast advice

    1) As Nav said, the top looks awesome, but the bottom is way to cluttered.

    2) Try to stick to one font.

    3) For your forums, I would recommend UltraBoard (http://www.ultraboard.com)

I pretty much agree with the above posts. You should try and cut down the size of the main page, and make it a little more viewer friendly.
