    Help with graphics please

I have just received an instructional CD which loads fine and displays no problem or at least the text does. Unfortunately there should be images next to the text but all I see are blank box's with the 'x' at the top.

It is a power point presentation and I am running with Windows XP, I am pretty sure that the CD is fine and it is my settings somewhere, can anyone advise,

    thank you,

    Mal.

Sounds like the images didn't come with the CD to me. I think you'd better provide more info, as this sounds a little odd. Is this a commercial CD or something that someone threw together for you? If the images aren't in the same location in relation to the main file that they were when the CD was made, then they won't show up.

With Powerpoint presentations you can either embed images directly into the PP slideshow or link to external images or videos.

It sounds like your PP slideshow is trying to link to external images. Are you sure there is no other folder on the cd called "images" or something similar you also need to copy to your pc?.

Need more info on exactly how you are loading the cd.

    Hi Guys,

Thank you for your replies. I am a trainer during the day and the CD was supplied by the Institute where I am registered. The CD was to support subjects that I already run and the same CD is supplied to all the trainers and I have no doubt that the CD is fine, it is something on my settings.

There is no seperate file for images, for example, a First Aid CD should show all instructional text at the bottom which it does as well as images above for CPR etc and none of the images show, just the text.

Go into your PP presentation and check the images, for sure. It will show you where they are being directed from. You can check your paths to make sure they are correct and you can also check if it is linking to images which say are blocked and/or no longer exist.

Check your options of powerpoint, maybe the image is not in supported format or it is not an image file and it flash or swf. Check it.
