Here is a design I have been working on. I don't know if it works on Netscape (I am on my new laptop, and I forgot to download it). So could someone please check that? The URL is: http://www.webmasterdir.com/WebDevHQ
Looks good.. but as said above, it looks very similar to the old WR layout. Maybe a change of colors would be better. There are a lot of the same descriptions and headings too. There are virtually thousands of webmaster resource sites, think of something that could help yours stand out - contests, new tips, anything you feel would help generate a community. Give something to make visitors visit -your- site instead of the competition. Be unique
As far as the design goes, it looks nice and very well laid out. Loaded fast for me too. I'm using 56k IE 5 win98 if it helps.
Nice layout but like they said it looks too much like the old one. I'ts not that the old one looks bad it's just that why waste your time re-designing the site if it isn't going to be more effecient and wow the viewers. I always look at a re-design as taking all of my viewers inputs adding some of my thoughts and recreating the website. Afteralll, isn't that why you re-design the website in the first place. So before you spend time migrating to the new version why don't you make it different and overall better.
I would like to clarify that Webmaster Resources.com was the forerunner of the SitePoint Network. It was not related to Matt Kaufman or his website except that he has been a member here in the forums for some time.
It does seem to be ---again--- another copy of the sites of big boys as ZDNet and W-R.com... Not that these sites were ugly, but every selfrespecting webdesigner can come up with an original idea...
