    Hi,

    Here's a site I'm working on to use as a new design for AlleghenyInstitute.com:
    http://www.alleghenyinstitute.com/test/index.shtml

    It might take a minute to load...be sure to checkout the mouseovers up on the top and the bottom...also, ignore the lack of content...and the links on the left hand side don't work...I'm just looking for reviews on loading time, compatibilty, color use, etc.

    Also, from that main URL there you can click on any of the buttons on the top...but if you want to click on another one from there, you have to hit the back button...http://www.alleghenyinstitute.com/test/index.shtml is the only page where the buttons work right now.

    As you'll notice the backgrounds I have on each area correspond with the icon on their button up above.

    Tear me apart!

    ~~~ This site is approved ~~~
    Site loads fast enough. I like the red background of the navigation on the original layout over the white your using now. Other than that the new improvements are good.
    hi,
    Excellent site, I only have one thing to say (well except that its really good) The mousovers at the top are nice but you do not preload them This means that when you put your mouse over you have to wait abit before the second image commes up. Preloading is easily done and I will be willing to post the code for you if you want.
    Other Than That Great
    adamfletch,
    I noticed that problem and I believe I even have a JavaScript to preload the images, but I can see that it's not doing its job...if you could post the code for it I'd be very greatful!
    Yikes, almost all the other sites I've had reviewed have had some problems other people have pointed out, glad you like this one. I was struggling over the light grey backgrounds on the navbar...I was so happy with the way the icon-matching ones turned out...and I'm very pleased with the "@i" thing...I was wondering what the background should be for the navbar on non-area-specific pages...then lightning struck my brain!
    You have a good idea, and obviously know what you are doing. I like the buttons at the top. Two things that need work are the logo (it looks too simple and unattched) and the black bar down the middle. The bar looks out of place. I think it is just becuase the black is a weird contrast with the maroon. I suggest rounding the corners on it. Maybe it will look warmer and more welcome that way. Just some suggestions...
    Really good site. Never a question as to what the purpose is - just look at the name! Very easily navigable, and the color scheme works, although it seems a trifle dull (don't mind that, though - I'm just nitpicking an otherwise great site). The mouseovers worked instantaneously for me, although I have a pretty fast connection (cable modem), so I don't know about a 56K or the whatnot. Keep up the good work!
