Wired News got a new design

    http://www.wired.com/

This is a pretty major site, and not only does the new design look better, it also uses XHTML and CSS, and the layout of the site does not contain any tables anymore.

    An article about it:

It's alright...definitely an improvement. But I feel overwhelmed when I look at it. There's a lot going on. But I like the text-size feature in the top-right corner. I love when sites implement stuff like that. It greatly adds to usability.

i give them ten points for being couragouse enough to do it. but i do however think 13 stylesheets is a little excessive

this is a very good read also interview with Douglas Bowman, Network Design Manager for Terra Lycos

And I think this will be great encouragement for other sites to stop trying to make their site look right in NS4 as well.

    Thumbs down

I find it very hard to look at. I'll probably go back later and check it out a bit more, but I don't see anything, design wise, to keep me there.

Maybe it'll grow on me, but it definitely seems really "busy" right now and a bit hard on my eyes compared to their older *and IMHO cleaner* format....
