    ERROR 1006: Can't create database...

    Iam runing Linux server online.I have latest stable ver. of mySQL.I install mysql on my own online Linux
    server,so I login on mysql as root than I type command CREATE DATABASE vbulletin;
    error message:
    ERROR 1006: Can't create database 'vbulletin'

    I looked on the net and a lot of people have the same problem you can check yourself:

    but still can't resolve the problem because I new one on mysql and Linux stuff.

    there's a few things that I can think of:
    - you might not have access to the CREATE command on MySQL
    - also, you might not have enough room on the disk to create it

    Most likely, it's the first one though.....you might check with the admins for the server.

    Maybe the user that the mysql server is running under does not have access to the files to write new tables... in other words it is trying to write to an area where it does not have privialges. Is that possible?

    Could it be your host doesn't allow multiple databases and only gives you 1?

    Check with your host..
