Lightbulb How do you create a forum?

I want a better forum on my website, but I don't want to pay anything.

Does anyone know how I can put a free forum on my website that doesn't require dowloading and it is a good one?

In my opinion, no remotely hosted option is a good solution if you want to portray a professional image.

You could look into starting a Group or Club at either MSN or Yahoo. There is also Bravenet.com which allows hosted forums.

[Rant]Is it just me, or have the ads on yahoo groups gotten out of hand?

I mean, you practically have to look at an ad everytime you want to read a post. [/rant]

Well, in Yahoo's defense, they have to make money and they provide a way to "purchase" a group so that it is ad-free.

Understood, but lets hope they find a better way of presenting said ads so that using the their "groups" isn't an exercise in frustration.
