what do you mean .NET server? Isn't that the same as IIS with the .NET framework in place?

    No...

It is Microsoft's name for their new generation Server OS most likely based on XP instead of Windows 2000.

I have installed it on a Pentium II at 600mhz and 328K memory. It took awhile

It has an option to easily setup IIS and a web server by picking it during the OS setup.

If you are using the Microsoft .NET platform you will want this server. Otherwise, I'm sure Windows 2000 is more stable for a windows platform.
