Affordable ASP hosting with decent db structure

I'm looking for a hosting package that allows me to use ASP and ASP components for coding but connects to a database that isn't MS Access. I would go for SQL server as I already know how to use this but it costs a fortune to run.

Is there a solution to this such as mySQL or am I going to have to learn a new language and use PHP instead?

how big a SQL db do you need? CI Host does have SQL with their basic Windows packages, reasonably priced (about $20 per month if you pay for the whole year), but the Windows support leaves much to be desired. Click on "Special" or something when looking at their product list. The SQL db size is fairly small on the bottom end packages, around 200 mbs.

edit: i haven't had any downtime so far with this package, just don't like the support. their unix support is much better.

I'd recommend you do a search on Google (includign news groups) before you commit to any host. Also worth checking in this case is www.WebHostingTalk.com
