I created Google + for one of my sites and I can tell you that before PR of that site was PR0 a after that (after Google Bot ) PR was 5. What do You say about that? On my profile i put backlinks for my site and I can see that position on Google for sam keywords is going up.

It won't be giving any backlinks. If one develops large following in Google+, people may be interested in your products and services, and visit your website through Google+. It is highly recommended that one develop one's own sites (blog/forum/news/articles) rather than trying to get following in Google+ or any such social sites.

I say that you're either mistaken, or there's another explanation.

Regardless, PR doesn't matter. Any SEO consultant/analyst worth their salt knew that a long time ago.

It is true that we can't get backlinks from Google+. It is also true that it is not effected for SEO as other social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn and others. I posted many links on my profile of Google+ but i didn't a single visitor from there...

May be it will effect after some time. I learn that Google + is going develop a option of Commercial Pages as Facebook and Twitter are working. May be it will effected for SEO after that..

Yes I agree with you.. i also read some articles of Matt Cutt, though we cannot see the full advantage of G+ but in future we cannot say what will happen. So better continue using Google + as one of our Networking sites that promotes our website....

This is great knowledge about Google + here. Looks like there is conflicting opinion as to how well it works for sites, as is usual with most things about SEO on forums. I have yet to even join Google+, but it looks like I will need to at least establish a presence for my sites there. It can't hurt, and in my opinion based on what I have seen on Yahoo, participating in the search engine's applications and including url's increases the amount of overall traffic per day from that search engine. My gut feeling tells me that a Google + presence will help your site.

Possibly, if you conclude that every opinion posted on here is equal. To be blunt, there are often so many clueless people here that it's very difficult to take some posts seriously, so if you're looking for valid information look towards users who make the most sense. Someone who can't logically back up their arguments isn't worth listening to.

Possibly, but gaining traffic is only a by-product of SEO, and not SEO itself. Google+ is what it is, a social media tool. As 99% of businesses who use social media look at it as a silver bullet and are terrible at using it I think it's fair to say that G+ will suffer the same fate and will become a favoured tool of the misinformed SEO spammer.

Then I would suggest waiting until it becomes more brand-friendly and REALLY researching the best way you can use it with minimal effort. It is likely that you'll get next to no return on your time so you'll need to spend your time wisely.

I think I read from one of Matt Cutts press release that Google is using Google Plus signal for ranking websites. Although there's no confirmation if the said criteria has substantial effect on the websites of some experts, I think it's still worth it to invest on this growing Google Social media.

I've looked quite hard for this piece of information and am yet to find it. If it exists can you provide a link?

There is a section about Google + in the Google Webmaster help section. I can't find anything in there to suggest that Google + is used in ranking sites.

The links created by users within Google+ can be picked up by Google’s algorithms

Anyone in the UK want to take a fiver bet that Google + appears on a UK TV advert within the next 6 to 9 months or so?

I mean I am thinking I want to bet it will. Anyone willing to put a fiver up to say Google + will not be either mentioned in a TV advert by a Company or sneaked into advertising on the likes of RudeTube or something?

G+ is awesome, because it gives direct traffic as compared to FB. This is only place where G+ beats FB.
FB back-links are not rated higher and since google search engine is used most, G+ pages are indexed higher.
