Ignore the preloading for a moment - how/where are you using the sounds in your script?

    Its up :)

    Its up at http://www.unitingrhythms.com/drums/drumrhythms

Its working way better than before, but only up to 120bpm
    (and thats without double beats!!)
Oh! and I've still yet to put some funky beats up, but they are only a sentance.

If my sounds were properly preloaded, once the page has loaded it shouldn't need to contact my site but it keeps doing it every sound play.
A good sound preload and I could get some nice bpm!!
    Cheers Marco......

IMHO, you'd be much better off doing this in Flash, for many reasons:

    - proper preloading

    - support for mp3

    - easier to script

    - better user interaction facilities

    - better graphics (e.g. sliders, knobs, etc.)

    etc. etc.

    only other language is c++

    Marco,
I am trying really hard not to use any wysiwyg programs, and so far its going as planned. Graphics arn't that hard to do, the box on my site is just a tester, now I know its almost working I can play with graphics. As for sliders, maybe a line of rollovers, or is there a command that gives the position of the mouse? Maybe I could play with that???

Was it your question about finding pixel colors near a mouse point? How do you read a mouse position?

    Talking .base can control mp3's

It was a mistake in my previous program!! mp3's can be controlled by '.base'!! Nice....but still need a way of naming as a sound '.src'. The website doesn't look for the pics anymore, and if you make it available offline it works perfectly! Found the mouse position 'getter', cheers. It's my usual search engine but didn't think to look for it until you suggested sliders! nice idea! My bpm range is 200, and the table it goes in is 200pixels.....
    Thanks for your suggestion!!
    Take it easy........
