No design view in Homesite 5?

I know I'm behind the curve on this one but I handcode HTML in Homesite 4.5.1 and am thinking of upgrading to 5.0. I have heard that the "Design" view has been removed. I use that view all the time to help me spot positioning problems. I am reluctant to upgrade if this is the case. Can someone enlighten me on this matter?

    Thanks!

I never used Homesite prior to 5 but if you expect it to be Dreamweaver with it's multiple views, you're shopping for the wrong product. What Homesite does offer is Preview mode, which sounds like what you really need. But if you want something like DW's side-by-side mode or some kind of WYSIWYG editor, you have to look to another product.

Homesite 4.5 has three tabs (views) in the development window...Edit/Browse/Design. Does Homesite 5 have the Design tab?

The design view allows you to see the page with table borders turned on (more or less) without having to set your borders to "1". You can make changes while in design view but I never do. I just rely on it for the view....

No this isn't an option, though it seems to me there's something comparable. You'd have to relearn some stuff that's all. Homesite 5, from my understanding, was way bett er than 4.5, and the upgrade price is dirt cheap. You might consider buying the upgrade just to kick around for a bit.

Ok, thanks, Aaron. I think I will just to see what it's like.

DWMX now has a "homesite" look and acts like a major update to homesite

DW MX is now very code-centric. They still offer the WYSIWYG stuff but I think they realized that it's not a very good tool for any developer worth his salt.

What impresses me most about DW MX is the database connectivity that allows you to view tables and columns straight from DW. It really helps when I am writing queries and iterating through columns and rows in my code.
