    Fav Icon in IE

    Hi,

For some strange reason, my favorites icon does not want to show up. The existing site is also using a fav icon, and shows up fine when you bookmark the page, but the site which is due to replace the existing one does not show it at all. Both the icon files are exactly the same.

Netscape has no problem in finding the icon.

Anyone ever experience something this odd?

It seems to be some sort of caching issue with IE. I've had some pages show the new icon, some show the old and some show none at all whereas NS6 picked it up first time every time.

    cheers

Explorer does not handle the favourite icons too well. If you empty your cache and lose your icons and then re-visit the site, it doesnt seem to re-apply it, sometimes it just decides not to show them at all, regardless of whether you have emptied your temp net files or not.

Mozilla and netscape handle them better. Much better!

sometimes the favicon only shows up in IE once you bookmark the page...but yes, as soon as you empty the cache it's gone...
it's a bit fickle that way
