Software to update web site away from home?

Can someone let me know if this software exists? I want an HTML editor and FTP client that I can run from a CD ROM without installing anything. I use Dreamweaver at home, but when I am at school or other places, I can't update the web site because most of the computers do not have FTP programs or anything on them. Anyone have some suggestions?

    Cool

The best option would be to make your site dynamic using a database. You can add articles, edit articles, etc from any web browser.

Maybe take a look a PHP Nuke if you're starting off.

As an alternative you could get an online file manager script, but I personally haven't come across a decent one.

    Experiment!

    Hi,

You can use http://www.web2ftp.com/ for updating using FTP. You do not need a FTP client. You can use the above URL for FTP updation etc. and it only requires you to have a browser.

Depending on what you want to do, GoToMyPC might do the trick. It allows you to access your whole computer; I don't know if that's more than you want.

It may not be the best option, but you can also burn all your web dev apps to a CD-R and run them from any CD-ROM like that. It could be slow, though, so unless you have a CMS where you can manage things from a browser, try an online FTP site like the one posted.

    caser85,

I have set up WebEdit Professional http://www.webedpro.com/ for some of my clients and it is working out great!

WebEditPro is a browser-based website management application with file management and WYSIWYG editing capabilities and an FTP client built right in.

Once configured on your server where your web site is hosted, the script allows you to sign in with a password and ID, edit text, upload graphics, etc. from wherever you are using a compatible browser.

Depending on your need, it may be something to consider.
