    ASP vs. ASP.NET

I am the team lead in development and we are doing a school project using either asp.net or ASP. The problem is that the school is running Oracle 8.1.6 and is not set up for .NET .

My team will essentally be learning ASP or ASP.NET as we go along.

I have found more resources for ASP than for ASP.NET. Can someone who has more knowledge in this field give me insight, on the differenace and difficulty with ASP and ASP.NET ?

    Thanks

If you are choosing between ASP and ASP.NET, choose ASP.NET

In ASP you use script (VBScript) mixed with HTML, in ASP.NET you can separate the HTML from the code behind, and you use a real programming langauge (VB, C#)
Using ASP.NET is easier, faster, you have a lot of nice classes in the framework, you get less errors...

Which database you use doesn't matter, you just use System.Data.OleDb (instead of System.Data.SqlClient) to connect to Oracle
