Error trying to install notepad++ in XP

I'm trying to install notepad++ on an XP client-owned computer. Installation hangs at 'Error opening files for writing' (lang.xml).

    Is it not compatible?

One of the devs here uses Notepad++ on XP, so there should be no problem in general.

Have you tried downloading it again? Sounds like your install media might be bad.

Are you installing the installer version or the PortableApps version? Is the file in question already open on that machine?

Try downloading this one again: http://download.tuxfamily.org/notepa....Installer.exe

That's a directly link to the current version's installation file.
