Links From the Same Domain or Hosting

I should know the answer to this but just want to be sure.

I have several domains/websites all under one hosting provider.

If I link from one of my sites to the other will this count as a back link for the site or will search engines see I own them all and discount them?

It does not matter who do you host with. You can do link from A site to B site. It does not count as linkback but traffic referral to B site (traffic referred by A site).

Of course it counts, but from limited experience, I suggest you not do to that, Google does't like link wheel thing, especially when all of those websites on the same hosting. I might be wrong, though.

Search engines will count them if they are relevant to each other... If you are linking an e-commerce website with a law site that makes no sense and search engines will drop the backlinks.

Go ahead with linking if they are relevant.

I can understand if google checked the whois and saw they were the same. but if they are relevant then why not.

Also. I am sure many sites legitimately are with the same hosting and link to each other, so it would be unfair to discount.

Anyway. I am no expert, so thanks for the tips...
