    Doorway pages

    What do you guys think of doorway pages? Are the ood for SEO, or it's an obsolete strategy?

    Thanks to link pop its obsolete.

    Instead of making "Doorway pages" treat every page on your site as a potential point of entry and optimize them accordingly.

    The idea behind them is a good one. Like Aspen said, treat all your pages as a "doorway" and optimize them. It is a good idea, IMO, to create content pages (doorways, if you will) that the search engine spider will like. I still use "doorways" and they bring in a lot of traffic.

    Link popularity is important to achieve a high ranking on most keywords. But a good optimized page for smaller, more targeted keywords can bring in good traffic as well. If there is no competition on your keywords, then the chances of you getting a top 10 ranking are greatly increased, even if your link pop stinks.
