    Help With Netscape 4.7 Design Issue

    I'm having a problem with tables and Netscape 4.7 (or maybe it's not tables)? Here's the site:

    http://www.coslc.com/calendar/

    If you view this in Netscape 4.7 there's a big gap between the header of the page and the actual calendar. (View in ID to see what it's supposed to look like). I've tried taking out style sheets, separating the calendar table into it's own table, everything... that gap stays there. Any idea on how to get rid of it? Ideas?

    Thanks!

    It's a CSS thing. Netscape 4.7 doesn't support it properly. If I were you I wouldn't waste your energy -- it's readable and usable and people should damned well upgrade!!!

    (I feel passionately about this. See http://www.alistapart.com/stories/tohell/ -- I couldn't agree more! )

    Cool The sublime and the ridiculous are so related it's difficult to class them separately

    It's a CSS thing. Netscape 4.7 doesn't support it properly
    in this case, I'm guessing "it" means N4.7 doesn't support CLASS as an attribute of TABLE (or TR either, I think) - but aren't you being unnecessarily classy in this bit anyway?
    Code:
    <table class="webcal">
    <tr class="webcal_day">
      <td class="webcal_day
    can you simply style the cell to get the desired display?

    i think that you SHOULD make your site compatible for Netscape. even though i hate Netscape all of my sites work in Netscape 4.51+. and it wasn't that difficult. you just have to figure out how Netscape works. once you do that it's easy. anyways that's my two cents...

    Netscape 4.7 problem

    The problem is that you actually care about dopey people STILL using NS 4.7.

    My favorite quote is from greg.harvey

    Dopey people might buy your products. Unless your site looks like crap to them.
