    HTML edit box replacement

I found this and it's really cool, it's free too. Only works in IE but all you bright people out here can find a way to redirect other users to a standard form page

    Anyway check it: http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/

HTML Edit Box has more features.

Then there is also editize, by sitepoint - which has less features.

Anyway, does it by any chance have any API so that you can get it's output easily or control what buttons it has?

You don't need an API, you use it as a plain textarea.
Just submit it to the target page and request its contents like any textarea or textbox

I like the image upload handling in it, however, there are two major issues with editworkspro. It's IE only and it gives FAR from good high quality XHTML - which Editize does in turn.

Agreed, but unless you absoltely MUST have those features, it's hardly worth the extra $107.
