    Book recomendations for Oracle

I am fairly new to Oracle and would like to know if any of you have any recommendations on any books that might help me get started. I have a sample copy of 8i which I plan to use for my learning curve.

I think an article on this is definitely needed. Thanks to sitepoint I was introduced to PHP and MySQL but now I am trying to expand my skills by learning Oracle but have really not found any interesting articles on this subject.

I would like to basically learn how people are using Oracle and why it might be a better option than using something else. The difference between MySQL and SQL and SQL/PLUS.

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks all.

The Complete Reference (Loney & Koch) on Osbourne is a great reference in my opinion. It's well-written and comprehensive for most of the general stuff you need for Oracle. 'Course it's 1300 pp and has to weigh close to 10 lbs. but hey, knowledge don't come cheap. Seriously, I do recommend it. It has a CD with the book on PDF.

This was actually the only Oracle book that I have ever needed to buy. If you want a bible for Oracle, this is it.
