    CSS and dynamic DIV-heights

    Hi,

    I'm switching to a "table-less" layout with my website (currently offline) and need some help here.

    Now what I have are 3 columns, of which the middle one caries the content and the outer 2 just have a background image. Sounds simple? It is.
    Here's the catch: I need the outer columns to be exactly the same height as the content-column - of which the height is dynamic of course, as it must fit different lengths of text!
    Now I've tried nesting the columns in a parent DIV, but without much luck.

    So any suggestions are appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Why not put a DIV that contains all of them?

    for example:
    Code:
    <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; width:870px; height:740px; z-index:1">
    	<div id="Layer2" style="position:absolute; left:0px; top:0px; width:200px; height:100%; z-index:2"></div>
    	<div id="Layer3" style="position:absolute; left:200px; width:480px; height:100%; z-index:2"></div>
    	<div id="Layer4" style="position:absolute; left:680px; width:190px; height:100%; z-index:2;"></div>
    </div>

    Thanks a lot, your code seems to work! Strange though, isn't much different than something I've already tried... anyway thanks for helping!
