Open in tab instead of new window

So I've recently become a fan of Mozilla/Netscape7

I know you do target="_blank" to open a link in a new window, how do you make it open up the links in a new tab instead?

    Thanks

    Jason

At the moment, and most likely in the future, this will not become a normal part of any standard...

The fact that the target tag has been depreciated for usability reasouns, I do not think that w3c will go and stick in a "Mozilla only" function...

Whilst I love tabbed browsing, I am quite happy to simply click with my scroll wheel to open a new tab, really not too hard when you think about it

Yeah, that diddn't work. Thanks anyway.

I could see why W3C would be hesitant to change the standards to make a Mozilla only attribute. But if all the other browsers went to it.....

So why are they depreciating the target attribute? What will it be replaced with? How do you get your browser to open up in a new tab with just a middle click? I have to CTRL Click.

    Thanks

The target atribute is an enheritance of frames, As frames have been deprecaiated so to has the target attribute.

And you dont open the links in the target window. It is generally seen as bad for accesibility, and takes away from the users option of continuing in the existing window.
