How to check for Newsletter Reads?

Hi Folks,

I have an existing email Newsletter system.
I am wondering though how i can check for newsletter reads.

I have heard of putting a picture in there or something but im not quite sure how that works.

Any help is appreciated.

With 'newsletter reads' if you mean that how many people read your newsletter, than simply put google analytics code in the footer of page.
