    Question table width=100% ???

    I'm wondering ...

    Whenever I create a site design that requires the page span 100% of the width of the browser window, I always end up with a gap between the end of the page (graphics etc) and the edge of the browser window. It's always just a sliver! If I refresh the page, it's okay. It's just when one first loads it.

    I've got the table set to 100% so what's the problem?

    I've always designed around it but I've seen pages that have no problem with this so I figure I should find out. Without a doubt in my mind, it's simply something small.

    Any ideas?

    My guess is that its IE that he is using. I remember having this problem myself. I think its a bug. At least that's all I could come up with.

    You can add that to the list of pretty oddball bugs I have come across such as FOUC, (Flash of unstyled content) bug and the Floating div bug

    Me too...

    I have had this problem too. I noticed it in IE 6.0 and Opera 6.

    I would love to find out what the deal is.

    Anyone have an update on why this happens or how to fix it? It's just odd that some websites don't have a problem with it. It has never happened to me before until today, using IE6.

    edit:
    it appears that

    Code:
    body { margin: 0px; }
    fixes the problem, even though I had:

    Code:
    leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"
    in the body tag. Weird.
