Checking page weight - what's the MOST reliable method?
I need to identify a tool that will check page weight reliably.
Currently, I use an old version of Homesite (2.5) which does pick up on images, css files and .js files. However, version 4.5 of Homesite miraculously misses out the .js files, giving duff figures. And neither version picks up on images that are pulled in from a style sheet (external or within <style></style> tags)
I would like some suggestions for a tool that will do all the above, and that can be used both locally (ie check pages on hard drive) and can also check live pages on the internet.
Currently we've got a situation whereby, to check page weights, we're doing a 'save as web page complete' then checking that in Homesite 2.5
There must be a more reliable way of doing this that works consistently!
Looking forward to any recommendations
