    Question File Upload problem

    Hi

i have to upload images to a folder that is residing outside the document root.

I can easily refer the images in the folder by simply creating an alias in the apache server.

But when i tried to upload the images to the virtual dierectory, it is throwing errors.

can anybody help me how to access the virtual directory and upload images.(the images are to be uploaded through Browser)

    regards

This is a quick answer that you may have already addressed but the directory permissions need to be set to allow the files to be written. Like chmod 777 the upload directory.

    Hi,

it would be quite helpful to us if you've posted the thrown in error messages. And what do you mean by "tried to upload the images to the virtual directory"? Do you have specified upload_tmp_dir in your php.ini? All uploaded files go in there first in order to be processed by PHP-functions like move_uploaded_file().
    Never ascribe to malice,
that which can be explained by incompetence.
Your code should not look unmaintainable, just be that way.
