    SE Position Tool ?

I am looking for a tool of some sort that will tell me my position on the top SE's - do not need anything like Web Position - only looking to watch position - no submitting, etc.

    TIA,
    Donna

$500/yr seems a little expensive for that positioning software. WebPosition is a lot cheaper $149 for standrad and $349 for pro. Even if you only use the reporting tool, it's cheaper.

The only advantage I saw with the AgentWebRanking is that it hits international engines and directories in addition to US engines.

But, you have to ask yourself if you really need that functionality.

Are there any other alternatives to these 2 software titles?

    Hi All

Slightly off topic .... but is it not true that if you use this type of software to query Google you could be removed from Googles listing?

Sure have =) But Google feeds AOL and Yahoo, so I can get a good idea about my ranking by running those reports. Besides, if you run a small amount of reports at an off hour, they usually won't do anything. You certainly can't abuse it.

What is a small amount of reports? I cannot take the risk of having my ip blocked by google for using webposition gold. This is why I use agentwebranking. Do you know other software that do not "hurt" google?

I can't say how many would flag you. I just ran 10 reports over 2 days with about 50 words in each report. So, it's not a lot, but you never know where they draw the line. If you have a lot of reports to run, just run the AOL and Yahoo Web Pages reports. They are very similar to Google's own results and you shouldn't get your IP banned.

    Hi Bobf,

I do not know if you can get your site removed from google using webposition but you can have your ip blocked: http://news.com.com/2100-1023-883558.html

So follow Moospot advices "just run the AOL and Yahoo Web Pages reports. They are very similar to Google's own results and you shouldn't get your IP banned."
