Microsoft's August security bug fix Q323759 really DOES cause an exception to active X objects of the classid:
B6FFC24C-7E13-11D0-9B47-00C04FC2F51D
When they importGeometry through a meterlibrary ( haven't tested pixellibrary yet )

The proof of this is that the entire direct X development site for Microsoft has suddenly founded itself without examples

You'll see "Internal Error" and the pointer causing it in c++ if you have a debugger running.

I've raised the bug with Microsoft and it has a status and tracking id already.

I'll let you all know when they release a patch to cure this patch ( though it'll more likely be a hotfix )

The two reasons they will attend to this quickly ( thankfully ) are that it destroys their remote desktop system ( though it uses a different object classid ) and that
it makes their direct X team look incompetent.
